Bareeda Fishing Company was established in 2016 in the coastal town of Bareeda. Since its establishment, Bareeda Fishing Company has been engaged in catching, and exporting raw fish with its main market being Yemen. Over time, Bareeda Fishing Company has grown in size and currently boasts owning several facilities for fish processing as well as giving back to society. Some of its achievements / growth include: electricity generation, water desalination, ice making, and cold chain storage. Bareeda Fishing Company also owns fishing boats and boats that it uses to transport fish to Yemen. Bareeda Fishing Company has recently rebranded to Bareeda Tuna Factory in line with its vision to invest and build its capacity in processing canned fish products for both the local and international markets.
Bareeda Fishing Company serves both the local and international markets. Locally, it provides the aforementioned services which are key factors of production for the local population. As such, its consumers benefit from coverage of local service gaps by Bareeda fishing company such as through the provision of electricity, access to fresh water for domestic use, access to dry ice in the local market serving the wider fishing community as well as access to cold chain storage facilities. Its consumers in the international market (Yemen) benefit from affordable processed fish products.
